Nurture – APWA NEST (Community Hub & home for Her)

The symbolism and imagery behind the word nest is to create a safe space and haven. To guide women on the journey of self-love and work on self-image within the framework below. So they feel they are not alone in their battle of identity, survival and autonomy. There is a village with them. Our leadership team lead sub teams portfolios within both pillars Nurture and Advocate, relative to their skill set and lived experience.

Empower (GOAL)

APWA empowers women, who empower men (and vice versa), in turn empowering families and subsequently the community to break out of cycles of abuse, trauma, patriarchy, misogyny, toxix masculinity and culturally negative norms and practices that hinder growth. Allowing our members to harness the power of knowledge and keen awareness of their rights and responsibilities towards themselves and others. Resulting in empowered individuals that are active, contributing members of the broader community in every facet of life. Prevention is better than cure. (A stark rise in domestic and family violence over the Covid period will cost the NSW economy alone more than 3 billion by 2025*)
